Vanessa Pockett: Flight Purser - Cabin Crew
Sadly we learn that Vanessa has passed away, my sincere condolences go out to her family, friends and former colleagues. Vanessa joined in 1970, a member of Cabin Crew, promoted to Flight Purser in 1980.

Dear Vanessa, thank you for asking me to be on your last flight in 2005 when the LGW fire brigade came out to welcome your final flight on stand. Your were our Cabin Service Director. In short you brought LGW to a standstill the day you retired. Thank you for the laughter, the joy and your friendship. May you rest peacefully in heaven Vanessa.

Vanessa and I went thru school together at St Martin in the Fields High School for Girls. If she was form Captain I was her vice captain and vice versa. We loved school drama productions always in them sometimes taking leading parts. For 70 years we have exchanged Christmas Cards and Birthdays. It has been such a shock to me today to discover she is no longer here. Her last words to me when I rang her on her 80th birthday were "Sandi we are survivors". Sadly she is not any more. God Bless you Van I will never forget you.

I was so shocked to hear on this site of the death of my great friend Vanessa. I worked with Vanessa in the 1960's at Conoco, an American Oil Company, in Berkeley Square London. In fact during that time she had an interview with British Caledonian and the rest is history. We kept in touch periodically over the past 60 years by cards emails and meeting up. I named my eldest daughter after her and she came to my youngest daughter's wedding 20 years ago. I was in touch with her on her 80th birthday so was very surprised to hear she passed away in April last year. I've got great memories of her and her father - she was truly a good friend.
