Sadly I have heard that Vince passed away on the 18th March, he had been ill for some time. My condolences go out to his family, friends and former colleagues. Vince was a Flight Purser for BCal.
Vince and his cabin crew colleagues received special praise for the care they gave 187 survivors of the Zeebrugge Ferry disaster when they were flown home by special BCal service in 1987.
Vince's crew mates were Flight Pursers Jeanette Nathan, Jill Fletcher and Barry Rawlings; Senior Hostesses Fiona Baird, Lorraine Turner and Julie Smith; Air Hostesses Pam Owen, Alison Duthie and Diana Lyndon-Evans.

Sad news indeed. Vince was very professional in carrying out his role and will be fondly remembered. He and his sister Mary McGread (who started as cabin staff around 1972) lived with their family round the corner from my family in Glasgow.

R.I.P Vince. He joined on the course after me I believe. May 1973 then we were on the same No 1 course 1977 - promotions were slow at that time. I remember the after course party in a crew house he lived in then the pub next door, in Godstone? I tried to stitch him up in a raffle by badly mimicking his voice with a winning bid. Thank you to the gang for bailing him (me) out with a whip round. A nice guy & decent rugby player.
