My condolences to Tim’s family on his untimely passing away. I was aware Tim had been unwell for a considerable length of time and saddened to see someone so talented have his career cut short by such a cruel illness. I knew Tim for a number of years, dating back to Hamble days, and always held him in high regard. Fly high, fly free Tim.
From Chris Scott
After BCal had recovered from the fuel crisis of 1973 and reinstated our furloughed pilots, more were needed, and a pilot-cadet scheme was launched. It happened that British Airways had decided to lay off some of its pilot cadets on their graduation from Hamble. Tim was one of three who joined us at Gatwick in May 1977 and I later enjoyed flying with him on the One Eleven. He was destined for a long and successful career with us. In due course, he flew as a co-pilot on the B747 and eventually gained his command on the DC-10. I was very sorry to learn recently that Tim had been fighting a long battle against cancer. Sincere condolences to his family.
From Susie Beardwell
