Terry Remembered

From Vic Attwood
Terry joined the company as an export clerk at Gatwick, he went on to become a cargo trainer specialising in Dangerous Goods training for the BCal cargo network. When the CAA required courses to be approved by them BCal undertook training for other organisations which provided lucrative income for BCal. When BA acquired BCal Terry along with Basil Ellis, another of our Dangerous Goods trainers set up a training organisation and provided 3rd party training for airlines and organisations on a world wide basis. RIP Terry

From David Clark
Sorry to hear of Terry’s passing. I knew him from his Export cargo days through to when he set up his own training organisation. He was a really nice guy. RIP. My condolences to his family and friends.

From Phil Bowell
Very sad to hear of the loss of Terry. Terry was one of the really good guys in BCAL who literally kept us flying. In DFW and JFK whilst I was there, Terry came over and did initial and recurrent dangerous Goods and Cargo training and made us the professional organisation we were. This was especially true when we got the 747 Combi flying on the New York route. It was not only new to the BCAL fleet but was the first Combi on the UK register so there was a lot to learn. When David Coltman and Vic Attwood managed to get the commercial rights to carry livestock, Terry once again came into his own as there really was a tremendous amount to learn about carrying horses on the main passenger deck. This assisted in making the NYC route the commercial success it undoubtedly was. RIP Terry - a sound Cargo man.
