Neil Warringer : Operations
Sadly Neil passed away on Monday 29th May 2023, he had been battling cancer. My sincere condolences go out to his family, friends and former colleagues at this sad time.
Neil worked in Ops and held roles as Station Manager in Lagos, as well as in South America and also in New York too. He worked for 40 years in the aviation business, 20 of those with BCal and he recalled those to be the best years.

Neil was a great guy, fun to work with yet very very professional. He ran all his operations extremely well and was well respected by all who worked with him and throughout the company. One of the greats.

My condolences on the loss of Neil. He was my Manager when I was posted to Caracas. In addition to his professionalism and knowledge he was also a really good laugh-on his visits (well some of the time) he would regale me with tales from his many experiences. My first night in Caracas (over these tales) we had a imbibed “a little“ - next day I could barely function for the handover, meet and greet but he was wide-eyed and completely business like. He was a hugely popular Manager and a very nice man. RIP

So very sorry to hear this tremendously sad news. I was new to BCAL when Len Emery and Mrs. Wilde sent me to Lagos to set up the Lagos catering unit. Neil, the airport Manager, and his team couldn't have done more to help me and Neil provided me with a car and a very nice flat. In fact he and his wife Sandie made sure I was fine and I enjoyed the whole experience thanks to his generosity of spirit and kindness. We became firm friends after that and I visited them in Edinburgh and New York as well as their home in Storrington. They often came to my Christmas parties at my cottage at Wisborough Green or for dinner with other BCAL ex Lagos staff.
From Lindsay Biggin: RIP Neil.
From Richard Friend: Very sad news. RIP Neil. My thoughts are with his family

I was saddened to read of Neil’s passing. Like me, he lived in Sherborne, so I would occasionally see him around town. I knew him really from his time at Bahrain Airport Services when Cathay Pacific was a big customer back in the day. One of the Good Guys. RIP Neil.
From Ken Lownds: RIP Neil, I remember him.
