"Chop" Chopra : Engineering
Sadly we have heard that Chop has passed away, my sincere condolences to his family, friends and former colleagues. Chop worked for BUA/BCal before British Airtours, but on the merger was re-integrated in to the engineering teams and would have worked with many former BCal Engineers. He was on D shift in the hangars.
My thanks to Jim Will (Jim Williams) for passing on the news.
A private family funeral is planned
From Bob Cooper
I worked with “Chop” in the hangar at BUA/BCAL. I remember his large red toolbox on wheels with a large diameter piece of rope attached to it that he pulled it along with. R.I.P Chop!
From Roger Warren: RIP Chop
From Caron Phillips: RIP and my condolences to his family and friends
From Geoffrey Lewis
I remember we tied the rope up with a piece fine cord in the 10 dock when the aircraft went out there was Chop's rope standing straight up. The original Indian rope trick. Bob Cooper adds I remember that, when you went into the hangar Chop's toolbox rope handle was vertical and as you say it looked like the Indian rope trick. As I recall Chop was not impressed!
From Mel Sanders
I worked with Chop on the line he was our "paperboy" he would meet the early morning inbounds and supply the crewroom with newspapers, a real character. RIP Chop.
From Belinda Burton
So very sad to hear this. Chop was indeed a character and I loved his often dry humour. I told him he was my health guru as he often passed on good advice. I shall miss him. RIP dear Chop and our sincere condolences to his wife and family
From Mick Morgan: My sincere condolences to the family
