From Jan Simmons (nee Pitt, Anderson)
I was very sad to read about Susan’s passing. It was because of that picture of her with the little boy and cuddly toy, that pushed me into applying to BCAL back in 1972. A friend of mine at that time, knew the chap she was dating, and he used to tell me all about her flying adventures all over the world. When I saw the picture, that was it…. I applied and was accepted. I still have that picture somewhere in my box of photos and memorabilia. I never flew with Susan, but always felt some kind of connection looking at that photo. She was the epitome of a BCAL hostie. Condolences to her family…… may she Rest In Peace.
