John Osborne

Sadly John passed away on 26th January 2015. My sincere condolences to his wife Karen, family, friends and former colleagues. John was General Manager in the Commercial Division, working under Peter Smith.

John's service was held on 20th February 2015 at Worthing Crematorium, Near Findon, West Sussex. A reception was held afterwards at the British Legion in Littlehampton.

I was very sad to hear that John had passed away. John and Peter Smith gave me the opportunity to move from a long Ground Operations background into the Commercial Division of BCAL. He was a patient boss who took time to explain how Route Planning proposals should be handled and was supportive of my recommendations for the deployment of the A310 in Africa.

His sometimes gruff exterior concealed a real sense of humour and I look back on my time with him as being instructive but at the same time most enjoyable.

Without his trust and support I would never have gained the experience that enabled me to make the transition from BCAL to a senior BA Commercial position. He will be sadly missed and my thoughts go to his wife Karen at this time.
