Ian Remembered
From Phil Benson
Ian was a really fun guy to fly with. He always came to the annual Flight Deck reunions (since 2015 called Flight Deck and Cabin Crew reunions) and didn’t appear to have changed much from how he was 40 years ago. He still had the same fabulous sense of humour. He really will be missed.
From Ian Corby
It was a real shock when Mike Jeffs rang me. The flight and cabin crew were a 'tight community' in BCAL even after the take over by BA. Like others I've known Ian for many years, always fun to fly with, always made an effort to attend the reunions. The standing joke was his white hair, I always thought he had a "wig".
From Jean Carlyle-Lyon: Ian was absolutely loved by all. What a lovely happy person he was. I did so many trips with him.
From Brian Clarke: Oh how sad. Loved flying with him. RIP Ian. Condolences to his family and friends.
From Fee Flee: So very sorry to see this Fly Free Ian

If Ian was at the whisky tasting, what a way to go. If it's true Ian couldn't wish for a better way to cross the rainbow bridge. RIP old chum

Lovely guy, RIP, last saw him in Newtown Creek when he came on board our yacht for lunch. We had a great day, he drove past in a RIB and saw my wife on board who was a BCal hostie he knew, he certainly lived up to his nickname linked to his hair and had a wonderful afternoon.

Such sad news. Ian was always a pleasure to work with and such good company off the plane. I also enjoyed simulator training with him after retirement. A very popular crew member who always had a smile. My condolences to his family and many friends.

So sad to hear of Ian’s death. Andy (Anderson) and I had some hilarious times with him. He was so funny and full of life. I was looking at old photos of him recently, remembering such happy fun times. My thoughts and prayers are with his family…….may he Rest In Peace…… and laughter.
