Chris Tear General Manager UK Sales
Sadly Chris passed away, aged 79, on the evening of 10th August 2019, he had been fighting cancer for some time. My sincere condolences go out to his family, friends and former colleagues. Chris started in Publicity and rose to be GM UK Sales.

Chris's service was held on Wednesday 28 August 2019 at St John's in Horrabridge
This was followed by a celebration of Chris's life at the nearby family home
The family kindly extended a warm welcome for friends and colleagues to join them.

Chris was General Manager UK Sales for BCAL from 1971 to 1983. He joined the airline as a publicity / promotions manager, from British Aircraft Corporation (BAC). With BAC, he was closely involved with Caledonian’s introduction of the BAC 1-11 500 fleet. His wife, Pat, also worked with BCAL.

How very sorry I am to learn of Chris's untimely death. Chris was one of the first people I met in the airline when he visited the Seychelles to help me set up BCal's inaugural service in 1972 and has remained a good mate ever since.
